I have five thick arms, orange and grand,
On rocky shores I like to stand.
With arms like a snake and a brittle feel,
I move with a slither, not with a wheel.
I’m not just a star, but a cushion so fat,
My short arms hide underneath — imagine that!
Blue as the sky, bright as the sea,
In coral reefs, you will find me.
Spikes on my back, I’m dangerous too,
I can harm the coral, that’s sadly true.
My arms are thin and very long,
In the deep sea, I belong.
I have a sun for a body, arms like rays,
Underwater I love to laze.
I’m shaped like a pillow, with colors bright,
I move very slowly, not fast like a kite.
I wear armor that’s rough, not smooth to touch,
A reddish-brown starfish, not flashy much.
Tiny and deep, I’m a star in disguise,
You’ll need sharp eyes to realize.
Five arms I own, but sometimes I lose,
I grow them back — that’s what I choose!
I look like I’m bleeding with colors bright,
Crimson and orange, a fiery sight.
I’m a star with bands of black and white,
Camouflaging well — I’m out of sight!
I can regrow arms, it’s true and neat,
Breaking off is my survival feat.
I’m known for my bumpy skin and tiny spines,
In the Indian Ocean, I make my lines.
I live in the cold, Antarctic’s my bed,
With lots of arms spreading from my head.
Golden arms with tips of white,
I’m a treasure to the diver’s sight.
With thick arms and body low,
On muddy bottoms I like to go.
My arms form a lattice, delicate and grand,
Gracefully crawling over the sand.
