I stand tall with arms spread wide, I wear green clothes and shade you from the sun’s stride.

I slither and slide without a sound, in the forest where I’m rarely found.

A Snake

I’m brown and furry, love honey sweet, and walk on four but stand on two feet.

A Bear

I hoot at night and sleep all day, in the forest where I hide away.

An Owl

I build my house high up in trees, I chatter and swing with the greatest of ease.

A Monkey

I’m green and small and like to hop, near the forest’s little pond I stop.

A Frog

I rise with mist and cloak the trees, I float and dance upon the breeze.

Fog

I fall but never climb, I cover trees in coldest time.

Snow

I rustle and whisper when wind passes through, I’m full of secrets and stories too.

Leaves

I’m narrow and twisty and covered in dirt, I guide your steps so your feet don’t hurt.

A Trail or Path

I drink sunlight, live in the wood, give you air and shelter good.

A Tree

I buzz and hum and sometimes bite, I come alive at forest night.

A Mosquito

I’m sticky and sweet, from trees I drip, bears love me as a tasty sip.

Sap

I bloom with colors, small and shy, among the grass where I lie.

I crack and snap beneath your shoe, in autumn time I’m red and blue.

A Leaf

I’m silent but can fall with might, I’m strong in storms and tall in height.

I flutter with wings but never fly far, I light up the dark like a tiny star.

A Firefly

I’m known for hiding, quick to flee, with spotted coat—can you find me?

A Deer

I scurry and squeak, with nuts I’m quick, I climb the trees and perform a trick.

A Squirrel

I chirp and sing from dawn till noon, I often perch and love to croon.

A Songbird

I stand guard in still green rows, older than anyone ever knows.

An Ancient Forest

I’m cold and deep and sometimes wide, I cut through woods with a gentle glide.

A Stream or River

I’m a patch that’s soft and green, a forest floor blanket you’ve surely seen.

Moss

I echo your steps when you walk through me, I’m full of life and mystery.
